If a lump is found in your breast during a routine examination, we can remove some of the tissue and cells and send them for a biopsy to complete your diagnosis. Should you need a breast biopsy, we’ll advise you on the most suitable option. Biopsies performed at the Hospital are generally day appointments, with no need to stay overnight. Breast Cancer Surgery
Excisions of breast lumps (malignant or benign tumours), sentinel lymph node biopsies and mastectomies are all routinely undertaken at Parkside Hospital.
Oncoplastic Breast Surgery
Oncoplastic breast surgery is typically undertaken following, or at the same time as, breast cancer surgery. These procedures are a combination of cosmetic surgery and breast cancer treatments. Breast augmentation, lift (mastopexy) and reduction, post-mastectomy breast reconstruction and the re-alignment of nipples can all be undertaken in order to give improved breast symmetry.
